“Changing Together” 

What:  A Class for Mothers and Daughters to attend together.  This class is facilitated by Dawn Gray, a Registered Nurse and one of our parents.  Dawn does a wonderful job taking mothers and daughters through the story God has written in designing our bodies…inside and out.

Who:  This class is designed for Mothers and Daughters (3rd-6th grade) to attend together.  *Mothers of younger daughters are more than welcome to attend to get a preview of this class.

When:  This Class is a 2-part Series:  Part 2 will be this Wednesday, November 3rd.

Location:  Room 104 on the East Hall (Where Celebration Station meets)

MISSIONS’ SUNDAY, November 7th! 

Calling All Children in Celebration Station AND Adventure Zone!

November 7th is a Big Day for our church family…Missions’ Sunday.  We would like for the children in Celebration Station AND Adventure Zone to share through music and prayer at BOTH Worship Services in the Great Hall.

Time:  Children need to be in their Classrooms (Celebration Station and Adventure Zone) NO LATER than 8:40.  The Volunteer Teams will take the children to the Great Hall to sing. After they have shared, Volunteers will take them back to Celebration Station and Adventure Zone

**Celebration Station Parents…immediately following the time your children sing, please return to Celebration Station to participate in the “Celebration Station Open House” for the remainder of the 9:00 Hour. 

For the 10:45 Hour, Volunteers will escort your children to the Choir Room.  After the children have shared, they will be brought to the Lobby for you to pick them up.  We would like to encourage you to come back into the Great Hall to participate in the rest of Missions’ Sunday as a family.

COATS, COATS, COATS!

Last year, our church family collected numerous coats for men, women and children for Refugees and our Room-in-the-Inn Guests.  We would like to assist with that need this year as well.  Please bring New or Used Coats to the Drop-off Bin at Children/Family Registration throughout the Month of November

Sunday, December 19th:  Christmas Program in the Great Hall at 6:00 p.m.  ~Please bring 2 Dozen Cookies or a Gallon of Lemonade to share for the Refreshment that follows in the Lobby.

We still have “Day-By-Day” Kids’ Bibles Available if your student needs one. They are available for a suggested donation of $10.00 each. We are navigating our way through the Old Testament on Sundays and Wednesdays this School Year.

Location:  On the Woodmont Hills Campus: Specific Room TBA

Cost:  A suggested donation of $5.00 per person is appreciated to help cover the cost of materials.  Tickets will be available beginning Sunday, September 26th at Children/Family Registration.

Childcare is available for Children 2-12 by Reservation ONLY and for a fee of $5.00 per child with a Family Maximum of $15. Reservations must be made by Thursday, October 7th.  We need to have those reservations to be insure that we have the appropriate number of Caregivers for Children.  RSVP to Shirley at 386-4147

This Sunday, September 26th… “Hoedown on the Hill”
4:00-7:00 on the Woodmont Hill’s Campus

Buy your meal tickets by this Sunday – catfish dinners $6, hot dog dinners $3. We only have a limited number of the best catfish dinners in town, so buy your tickets now! Admission is FREE! Donations at the event are encouraged to help cover costs – additional funds raised will go to support various ministries at Woodmont Hills.

There will be live music, hayrides, bouncy houses, food and fun for the entire family. Invite your friends, neighbors, and anyone who has ever attended Woodmont Hills for a homecoming event to celebrate family and our love for God. Don’t forget to bring your lawn chairs!

 A FEW REMINDERS

3rd Grade Promotion THIS SUNDAY!  Students who have started the 3rd Grade should report to Adventure Zone as usual at 9:00.  They will be promoted to JAM during the 9:00 Hour.  JAM Students are dismissed on their own at 10:15 a.m. so we highly recommend that Families select a “Family Meeting Place”

Parents of 3rd and 4th Graders…if you still need a copy of the “Day-By-Day Kids’ Bible” for your student to use in JAM on Sundays and Wednesdays, we have plenty of copies available at Children/Family Registration for a suggested donation of $10.00.  ~We are reading and exploring the Old Testament this year on Sundays and Wednesdays and we will be using this particular Bible.  ~If you need a copy but are not in a financial situation to be able to acquire one, please let Suzanne Rowe or Shirley Banning know.  It’s our pleasure to be sure every student has a copy.  You can contact Shirley or Suzanne through the church office at 297-8551 or definitely feel free to stop us at church.

What’s up this Summer on Sundays and Wednesdays????

The Ministry Format for our youngest ones…”First Steps” and “Live Wires” is consistent year-round.  Consistency blesses and nurtures these age groups.

We do like to mix things up a bit for “Celebration Station,” “Adventure Zone,” JAM “34″ and JAM “56.”  Below, you’ll see the Summer Experiences that are being offered on Sundays and Wednesdays for those age groups.

Summer Sunday and Wednesday Schedule for ~Celebration Station, Adventure Zone, and JAM 34 and 56~

CELEBRATION STATION:  Ages:  Children who have turned 4 ½  by May 31, 2010–Children who will be entering Kindergarten this Fall.

Sunday 9:00 Hour

8:45 Children Arrive

8:45-9:10 Play with a Purpose…children are welcomed into age-appropriate stations in order to feel comfortable and secure and to build friendships with others.

9:10-9:20 Large Group: Praise Time

9:20-9:50 Time Travel!  Each Sunday in the Summer, children will get to “travel” back in time by visiting our “Time Travel Rooms.”  We have rooms that have been turned into different Bible Stories and each week, the children get to visit one of those rooms. The first session, we are exploring the stories of “Joshua”.  The second session of Summer, we’re exploring “Parables.”  ~When you travel, you get a souvenir…so, be sure to ask your children what they got on their travels and…Families, they will have an “Ask Me” sticker that has something for you to ask them about their travels of the day.

9:50-10:15  Children return to Celebration Station and expand the story they’ve just heard through music, games and crafts.

10:15   Dismissal

*There is not Programming at 10:45 for Celebration Station. This provides an opportunity for children to attend Worship in the Great Hall with their families.*

Wednesday Nights at 6:30:  Celebration Station meets in Room 106.  We are combining with Adventure Zone for the Summer.  And…we’re exploring the stories of God’s faithfulness in “Judges.”

ADVENTURE ZONE:   Ages:  Children who will be entering 1st Grade this Fall–Children who will be entering 3rd Grade this Fall. (Promotion Reminder:  Those students entering 3rd Grade this Fall will promote to JAM on Sunday, September 12th )

Promotion Reminder:  Students entering 7th Grade in the Fall will promote to the Student Ministry on Sunday, July 18th.

10:15  Students are dismissed on their own.  We encourage families to select a Meeting Time and Place.

 *10:15 A Time of Communion can be made available at this time for students and families in Room 207.

 **There is no Programming at 10:45 for JAM.   This provides an opportunity for students to attend Worship in the Great Hall with their families.*

 Wednesday Nights at 6:30:  JAM “34” meets in Room 206 and JAM “56” meets in Room 206 and this summer, JAM is exploring the Word God has for us on “doing life together.”

TOY DRIVE!  TOY DRIVE! 

Are you doing some SPRING CLEANING???  Do you have extra TOYS around your house that are in good condition???  Then we’d like you to consider giving your toys to children that NEED them.  Bring your toys to church with you on THIS Sunday, April 25th and drop them off at the Children’s Library.  Toys will benefit children receiving services through TEIS (Tennessee Early Intervention System)…all children involved are receiving various therapies for their disabilities, but many of the families do not have the means or resources to fund toys for their children.  Toys will be given to children all over the Middle Tennessee area, specifically Nashville, and will be put to good use!  Please, no bikes or strollers.  They don’t have the space for them.  Questions can be directed to Julie Tuley at juliekay623@yahoo.com.  Thanks!

The Resurrection Trail, April 3rd       

 Please bring your family and friends on Saturday, April 3rd any time from 12:30-3:30 to walk the “Resurrection Trail” located on our church campus.  This is a way to walk and talk through the story of Easter together.  Trail Guides will be available at Children/Family Registration starting Sunday, March 21st if you’d like to have a preview of the Trail.
